A hazardous material (hazmat) incident in Salt Lake County occurs when dangerous chemicals, gases, or substances are accidentally released, posing a threat to public health, safety, or the environment. These incidents can happen due to industrial accidents, transportation spills, pipeline leaks, or illegal dumping.
